New circuit?

When you are refurbishing the loft or just built a new summer house, we can determine your needs ( number and position of sockets, light technologies)... and the best way to meet them in term of work, design and budget.


New consumer unit ( fuseboard)?

A house doesn't need a full re-wire very often, but to upgrade the consumer unit can, in a one or two day job, completely change  the convenience and safety of your house.
Before fitting a new consumer unit  the existing installation in your home must comply with the current regulations ( 17th edition BS 7176).  I will test the different circuits, explain to you the issues ( if any) and, with your agreement, I will rectifiy the faults and install the new consumer unit .


Partial or complete rewire?

As wiring deteriorates over time, but also because regulation and technologies offer more and more convenience and security, it is recommended to re-wire a house every 25 years as a minimum.
A re-wire can be a very disturbing job if not prepared and planned properly. That's why I will always come to check the current state of the existing circuits, identify the best solution and then plan a schedule with you to minimise the disturbance to your house .

Some problems with your installation?

This is what we call "fault finding". It is often very quick to find and solve the fault, but if it isn't the case I will always determine the steps to take and explain them to you for agreement, so you never get surprised by the invoice and you keep things under control.
